I was born in 1973 and was very lucky to grow up in one of the most beautiful areas of all, the Gailtal. Nestled between the Gailtal and Carnic Alps, in a village small enough to feel familiar with the village, culture and, above all, the people, but also big enough to be able to use a pretty decent infrastructure for our area.
So why go far away when the good things are so close? I started and completed an apprenticeship as a car mechanic in the Gailtal and have essentially remained true to my job and the valley.
I love and appreciate our mountains at all times of the day and year. In winter mainly with touring skis, in summer with a bike or simply with hiking boots, alone and with The Company of others. I can be found out and about in our mountains to gain endurance and stay fit.
During one of these hikes, I finally had the idea of sharing my tours with others and Not just on Social Media. Hiking in the great outdoors with all the effort and hardship that goes with it, sweating and panting to achieve the desired goals and to experience our wonderful mountain landscape together with friends, hiking holidaymakers or locals looking to make friends.
Pursuing this idea, I completed the three-part training to become a Carinthian mountain hiking guide. After a summer course, glacier module and winter course with a successful final exam, I was able to gain my first experience as an authorized mountain hiking guide from the beginning of 2022.
Since then, in summer and winter, I have been bringing people out of their familiar surroundings into nature, mainly in my immediate vicinity but, also far away from my home, the Carnic region.
Even if the hiking trails and destinations are repeated, with different people every hike becomes a unique experience.
